About me

I’m Hannah Risser; a quantitative ecologist, moth expert, and science communicator. I have a particular interest in how large-scale drivers of environmental change impact species.

Working in the environmental research sector for the past decade, I have developed advanced skills in statistics, data science, coding, data visualisation, bid writing, and project management.

I am incredibly passionate about UK moth ecology, having recorded moths in my garden and beyond for several years.

I hold a BSc in Ecology from the University of York and an MRes in Ecology from Lancaster University.

I’m interested in creatively communicating environmental science and natural history beyond academia - through macro photography, writing, social media, and public speaking.

I offer various consultancy services
